IRC Released:
“Differential Judicial Proceedings of Insurance Crimes”
The book titled “Differential Judicial Proceedings of Insurance Crimes” authored by Dr. Naim Sahami and Nadia Nigjeh released by IRC Publications.

Driven by the principle of pluralism, differential judicial proceeding is the byproduct of the changes in the concept of ‘peril’ based on a risk-based perspective toward crime and the criminal that will eventually sets up the criminal justice ecosystem. Given the significance of insurance for the modern human life, the adoption of such a discourse in the insurance crime settings is a vital necessity. It also helps the criminal justice system in its management and control of the risks raised by such crimes.

Highlighting the significance of this issue, “Differential Judicial Proceedings of Insurance Crimes” was written by Dr. Naim Sahami and Nadia Nigjeh and published by IRC. The book is divided into two general sections including “The What and Why of the Differentialization of the Judicial Proceedings of Insurance Crimes” and “Showcasing the Differential Judicial Proceedings in Insurance Crimes in Light of Domestic and Foreign Laws”. Further, these two sections deal with the following subjects: “Introduction”, “Principles of Differentializm in Insurance Crime Proceedings”, “Prerequisites for the Differentialism in Insurance Crime Proceedings”, and “Characteristics of Insurance Crime Proceedings based on the Comparative View of the Crime”.

Drawing on the scientific principles and judicial capacities of Iran legal system, the book attempts to reveal the current weaknesses in the fight against insurance crimes in the criminal justice system. In light of this and having a comparative perspective, the book introduces and highlights the differentialism aspects in the judicial proceedings for both criminologists and insurance scholars.

As an avant-garde, the present book attempts to amalgamate the concepts in criminology and insurance knowledges forging a new path for the scholars of both fields. It also aims to facilitate the relevant legislations or at least draw the attention of the legislators in the field of insurance crimes in order to observe the characteristics of the insurance crime claims. This would eventually help for the formulation of the criminal justice policies that have more effect on the containment and control of the insurance crimes.
