Press Briefing for ICID 2025 Held Online
At an online press briefing on 28 November, the Insurance Research Center (IRC) presented the policy priorities driving ICID 2025, where industry stakeholders will examine supervisory innovation and trust-building under the theme “Rethinking Supervision and Rebuilding Trust.”

The press briefing for the 32nd National and 13th International Conference on Insurance and Development (ICID 2025) was held online on 28 November 2025 due to air pollution, with the participation of Dr. Leili Niakan, Director General of the Insurance Research Center (IRC), and a group of economic correspondents. The session reviewed preparations made ahead of the conference, outlined the program for the event, addressed reporters’ questions, and highlighted the broader strategic objectives of the gathering.

According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department of the IRC, members of the media and economic journalists took part in the briefing. At the start of the meeting, Dr. Niakan explained how the conference theme was selected and introduced its main tracks.

Referring to last year’s theme—“Public Satisfaction and Trust in the Insurance Industry”—she noted that thematic continuity had been maintained. This year’s overarching theme, she said, is “Rethinking Supervision and Rebuilding Trust.”

The Director General also outlined the four principal thematic pillars of ICID 2025: Technological Transformations in Supervision, Risk-Based Supervision, Modern Regulation and Legal Requirements, and Foresight, Evaluation, and Institutional Requirements. She added that the conference format has changed this year: specialized panels were held prior to the main conference day to give participants more time to absorb and build on the discussions. These panels saw broad participation from across the insurance industry, including the Syndicate of Iranian Insurers, professional associations, brokers, and loss assessors.

During the Q&A session, journalists inquired about the level of participation from academic researchers and industry experts, as well as the purpose of the conference’s accompanying exhibition. Dr. Niakan provided the relevant explanations.

The press briefing aimed to ensure transparent communication, facilitate the exchange of perspectives, and strengthen engagement between the IRC and the media. It also helped raise public awareness of the objectives and scientific direction of the Insurance and Development Conference.
